Nagpur: Ravinder Singal, an IPS officer of the 1995 batch, took over as Nagpur Police Commissioner on late Thursday night.
Singal succeeds IPS Amitesh Kumar, who is slated to lead Pune Police as the Top Cop.
Earlier in the day, Nagpur Police bid farewell to Kumar through a heartwarming program, attended by citizens expressing their love for his people-oriented policing.
The program also marked the farewell of DCP Mumakka Sudarshan, now posted to Chandrapur as Superintendent of Police (SP).
During the occasion, CP Amitesh Kumar welcomed Ravinder Singal, his 1995 IPS batchmate, expressing best wishes for his tenure in Nagpur.
“Singal and I commenced our policing journey together at the start of our careers. I am grateful that he is taking over my post and wish him even greater success in his tenure,” said CP Kumar.
He also extended warm greetings to DCP Mumakka Sudarshan for his posting in Chandrapur.
