Nagpur: Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, in response to mounting complaints against traffic policemen, has initiated a major reorganization of personnel deployment across all zones. Approximately 400 personnel have been reassigned in an effort to address the issues raised by the public. This move comes after recent incidents of corruption involving traffic policemen, which further highlighted the need for immediate action.

Around 20 days ago, a video went viral showing a traffic policeman accepting a bribe from a nurse near Tukdoji Putla Chowk. The video garnered significant attention, leading to the immediate suspension of the corrupt officer. CP Amitesh Kumar, emphasizing the importance of accountability, had previously warned that anyone found violating the rules would face direct consequences. He further encouraged the public to file online complaints if necessary, urging prompt action in response.

One issue that has been observed is the tendency of traffic policemen to form groups or herds when attempting to apprehend violators. Instead of effectively managing traffic flow, this approach has been counterproductive and has hindered the smooth movement of vehicles. CP Amitesh Kumar’s decision to rearrange the deployment of personnel aims to address such practices and instil greater efficiency and professionalism within the force.

The reorganization of traffic police deployment intends to ensure a more robust and accountable approach in dealing with traffic violations. By implementing strategic changes, the police department hopes to restore public confidence and maintain better traffic management across all zones. CP Amitesh Kumar has reiterated the importance of immediate action against those found guilty of corruption, emphasizing the need for timely investigations and strict disciplinary measures.

The police department urges citizens to remain vigilant and report any instances of misconduct or corruption by traffic police officers promptly. The online complaint system has been reinforced to streamline the process and ensure that appropriate actions are taken to uphold the integrity and professionalism of the force.

As investigations into the recent corruption cases progress, the department remains committed to fostering transparency, accountability, and an improved traffic management system for the welfare of the general public.
