Crime Branch arrests trader for selling bogus gulab jamun mix product in name of Chitale Foods Co

Nagpur: Crime Branch Unit 3 of city police arrested a trader on the charges of manufacturing bogus packs of Instant Gulab Jamun of renowned Chitale Foods Company and selling the spurious gulab jamun mix product to other retailers.

The accused Kailash Adatdas Rakheja (42), resident of Flat No. 302, Divyayog Apartment, Chikhli Layout, Kalamna, is owner of Waheguru Traders. The accused Kailash Rakheja clandestinely fabricated packs of Instant Gulab Jamun of the popular Chitale Foods Company and prepared duplicate gulab jamun mix products. These bogus products were then sold to other retailers in the name of the Chitale Foods Company and thus defamed the reputed company.

The accused Kailash Rakheja was arrested on February 2 and produced in a court which remanded him to police custody remand till February 6. The arrest was made on the basis of a complaint lodged by Amol Bhaurao Chavre (38), resident of Vasant Nagar, Juna Babulkheda, Ajni and Area Sales Manager, Chitale Bandhu Mitahiwale, Pune.

Cops have seized 24 boxes of 1 kg bogus Chitale Foods Instant Gulab Jamun Mix. Each boc contained 10 packs of the gulab jamun mix totalling 240 packs worth Rs 84,000 in market.

The accused trader Kailash Rakheja has been booked under Sections 420, 468 of the IPC read with Sections 51, 68 of Copy Right Act. Further probe is underway.

The action was carried out by Crime Branch PI Jagvendrasingh Rajput, API Dnyaneshwar Bhedodkar, WPSI Mangala Mokashe, ASI Rajendra Baghel, head constables Shatrughna Kadu, Shailesh Thavre, Anil Dubey, Suresh Hingnekar, NPCs Shyam Kadu, Atul Davande, constables Milind Narsanne under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Dr Bhushankumar Upadhyay, Joint Commissioner of Police Ravindra Kadam, DCP (Detection) Sambhaji Kadam and ACP Sanjiv Kamble.
