Nagpur: The kharif crop-loans worth Rs 606 crore were disbursed to as many as 65527 farmers through nationalized banks in entire Nagpur district by July 15, 2015. As compared to this, the crops-loans worth Rs 280 crore were disbursed to 33291 farmers by July 15, 2014, and overall kharif crop-loans worth Rs 477 crore were disbursed to as many as 55262 farmers of the district by September 30, 2014, informed Nagpur district collector Sachin Kurve in an official release, on Sunday.
He clarified that the disbursement of crop-loans worth Rs 841.50 crore is earmarked for the year 2015-16, of which only Rs 606 crore worth crop-loans have been disbursed so far.
According to him, the tahsildar-headed coordination committee meetings are held at taluka level on every Monday and Friday to ensure that not a single farmer should be deprived of crop-loan during this kharif season. Two camps at taluka level are held by officials of cooperative department, revenue department and banks in this regard.
The nationalized banks which extended cooperation in providing loans included Allahabad Bank, Bank of Baroda, Andhra Bank, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Bhartiya Mahila Bank, State Bank of India, State Bank of Hyderabad, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab and Sindh Bank, Punjab National Bank, IDBI Bank, Syndicate Bank, Vijaya Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank, United Bank of India, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Federal Bank, M S Cooperative Bank, Vidarbha Konkan Gramin Bank, Canara Bank, Karnataka Bank, Ratnakar Bank, Maharashtra Gramin Bank and others.
