Nagpur: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) died after he lost control of his motorbike and rammed into a stationary Swaraj Mazda truck parked on the road connecting Mohgaon Zilpi and Mangli in Hingna area of Nagpur late Tuesday evening.
The deceased, ASI Yuvraj Udaybhan Kokode (53) was a resident of Quarter No 491, Type-II, CRPF Camp, Hingna. ASI Kokode,who was posted in Jammu & Kashmir, had come to Nagpur on leave. On Tuesday, he went to Panchavati Radhakrishna Developers’ site at Katol to oversee the construction of his son’s house. While returning home from Katol on his Honda Dream Yuga bike (MH-40/AS-0992), he lost control over his vehicle and collided with a stationary Swaraj Mazda truck (MH-40/3007) parked on the road. The truck had no reflectors and its parking lights were switched off resulting in the tragedy.
On the complaint of his son Ashwin (26), PSI Swapnil Raut registered a case under Sections 106 and 285 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita against the trucker at Hingna Police Station.
Pickup truck crushes man to death
A rashly-driven Mahindra Bolero pickup truck crushed a 35-year-old man near Chikhi flyover at Dipti Signal in Kalamna area on Wednesday afternoon. Fearing public wrath, the driver of the ‘killer’ pickup truck (MH-49/AP-8689) ran away leaving his vehicle at the spot after the mishap.
Identified as Dinesh Mangtu Netam, the deceased was a resident of Pandurang Nagar, Wanjara Basti, Kalamna. Netam, who used to work at a tailoring shop, was on his two-wheeler when the pickup truck hit him from behind. He was killed instantaneously after the pickup truck crushed him.
Kalamna Police said that the driver was taken into custody after he surrendered at the police station. The pickup truck was also seized by the police after registering a case against its driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita.
