Dahi vendor killed as bicycle hit by speeding vehicle in Kamptee

Nagpur: A Dahi vendor was killed when the bicycle he was riding in was hit by an unidentified vehicle in New Kamptee area here on Thursday.

A resident of Ungaon, Kamptee, the deceased has been identified as Manohar Vishwanath Masar (55). On Thursday around 7.30 pm, Manohar was admitted to Mayo Hospital following an accident. He was pronounced dead by doctors around 11 pm on the same day while undergoing treatment. At that time, cops had registered a case of accidental death and probing the matter.

During the investigation, cops came to know that Manohar was going on his bicycle on Ligaon highway for selling dahi. At the same time, an unidentified vehicle rammed his bicycle and injured Manohar fatally. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later to Mayo Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

New Kamptee police constable Patode, based on probe report and complaint lodged by Maruti Vitthal Masar (35), booked the unidentified driver of the vehicle under Sections 279, 304(A) of the IPC and searching for him.
