Day-1 VCA warm up match : VCA ‘A’ on top

Nagpur News: The “A” team of Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) dominated the first day of VCA warm up match here on Monday. Courtesy to the splendid ton from Tushar Kadu the VCA “A” scored 324 runs at stumps.

Kadu scored his second consecutive century this season. He made 159 runs with the help of 22 boundaries. He also dispatched two deliveries for huge sixes during his marathon knock.

His innings was the highlight of the first day of warm-up match. Kadu, who had scored a century in his previous innings, looked comfortable against the new ball and faced the opening bowlers with ease.

Kadu”s confidence boosted up with each passing delivery as he passed the half-century mark with a mix of elegant and well-timed shots. Kadu placed his innings intelligently and accelerated at the time when needed to reach his second consecutive century. Soon he also reached another landmark, when he crossed 150 runs.

However, he was bowled out just when he was looking in utmost control and confidence. Kadu contributed with 159 runs in the team total of 324 runs.

Kushal Kakkad, Ankit Tiwari and Durgesh Mishra also played useful knocks in the first innings for VCA “A” team. However, all of them were unlucky to missed out on a well-deserved half century. Kushal was most unlucky among the three. He was dismissed for 49, just one short of his individual feat.

Anit Tiwari and Durgesh Mishra too were unfortunate to be dismissed when they were looking well settled. Both Tiwari and Mishra scored 46 runs.

Aditya Sarwate and Harshal Baniya were on the crease at the stumps on Monday. Sarwate was unbeaten on 21 runs while Harshal was batting on 20 runs.

The bowling department of VCA “B” team looked off-colour throughout the day. Vinod Kudawala was the most successful bowler for VCA “B”. He took two wickets giving away 60 runs. Suniket Bingewar and Mayank Gupta claimed a wicket each.
