Day long protest for labourer’s death at NTPC project site, Mouda

Nagpur News.

Two labours lost their lives while working at NPC project, Mauda, due to the sudden technical fault appeared in the machine they were operation.

Enraged over the labourer’s death, other workers called a protest in front of the main gate of the project office and demanded compensation for the deceased’s.

Dharmendra Singh, 42, was a resident of Selpura in Uttar Pradesh and other is identified as Logennath Bachre of Bhandara.

Police told that at the construction site, the labourers were trying to shit the heavy iron rods with the help of the crane. Suddenly, the belt of the crane machine broke and the rods fell over Singh and Bachre. Both were declared brought dead at the hospital.

The protest was called off after the higher authorities assured of giving compensation of Rs 13.60 lakh to Singh and Bachre’s family as well.
