Nagpur: In a blood-curdling incident, a drug-addict young man murdered a person in macabre manner in broad daylight on the Sonegaon Road in front of the police colony in Deoli, Wardha, on Monday, June 24. Shockingly, even after killing him, the murderer continued to hit the deceased’s head with a large stone.
The people present there recorded the entire incident on video and made it viral on social media. The crime occurred on 3:30 pm, causing an uproar in the district. The deceased was identified as Vinod Doma Bharne (45) from Sonegaon (Abaji). The accused murderer was identified as Karan Mohite (20).
According to the information received, Vinod Bharne had come to Deoli for some work. After finishing his work, he was waiting for an auto at the police colony junction to go back to his village. At that moment, Karan Mohite arrived and demanded money from Vinod. Karan Mohite is addicted to drugs and often asked people for money. This led to a dispute between Karan and Vinod.
Somehow, Vinod managed to get away and started walking ahead. At that time, Karan attacked Vinod from behind with a large stone on his head. Vinod fell to the ground, but Karan did not stop there; he repeatedly hit Vinod’s head with the same stone. As a result Vinod died on the spot. The incident happening in broad daylight caused panic in the area. The video of the entire incident went viral on social media, causing a stir.
Woman faints seeing the murderer’s cruelty
During the attack, a woman named Meera Shalik Moon, standing nearby, was also hit by the stone and got injured. Witnessing such a brutal murder, another woman named Sunita Vasant Thakre, who was also present at the scene, fainted and fell. She was immediately admitted to the government hospital.
As soon as the Deoli police received information about the incident, they arrived at the scene and took the murderer Karan into custody. Vinod’s wife, Archana Bharne, also reached the scene and fainted upon seeing the sight. Youths in the city, addicted to drugs, are committing criminal acts. After this incident, the city residents are demanding strict action against such individuals.
Humanity shamed
Wardha district, the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Vinoba Bhave, still sees rampant sale of alcohol despite prohibition. Many youths are getting addicted to drugs. In Deoli, as the drug addict youth brutally murdered a person in broad daylight, some youths were recording the incident on video, but no one had the courage to try and stop it. This incident has once again shamed humanity in the district.
