Nagpur: Acting tough on vendors selling liquor sans permit, Special Squad of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone 2 Vinita S initiated special drive on Monday.

During the action, cops found Ankur Wines, near Coffee House Square, Dharampeth, under Sitabuldi Sqaure, Gondwana Wines, Ravi Nagar under Ambazari Police Station and Mehta Wine Shop, under Sadar Police Station selling liquor to its patrons sans verifying their age and permit.

Following the Special Squad of DCP Vinita S comprising PSI Kunal Dhurat, Police Constables Pramod Arkhel, Mahesh Bawane, Jayanta Nandekar, Atib Sheikh, Sharif Sheikh and Sumesh Singh rounded up the accused wine shops owners and managers.

All the accused were booked under Section 82 of Maharashtra Liquor Prohibition Act. Further investigations are on.
