Nagpur: A special squad of DCP Zone 5 on Sunday raided a house in Boriyapura locality of Old Kamptee and arrested 18 gamblers on the spot. Apart from, cash, mobile phones, two-wheelers, gambling material, the raiding cops seized a live cartridge from one of the gamblers. Cash and other stuff collectively valued at Rs 4.42 lakh were seized.
The arrested gamblers include Mohd Hussain alias Bantu Mohd Vazir (28) of Madan Square, Old Kamptee. One live cartridge was seized from Mohd Hussain. The other arrested gamblers are Abdul Asif Abdul Raoof (25), Bhoipura Old Kamptee, Suresh Sukhdeo Tembhre (30), of Rama Nagar, Mohd Shahbaz Mohd Mumtaj (25), Bhajimandi, Old Kamptee, Dharukh Khan Kadir Khan (26) of Old Bhoipura, Tausif Khan Matin Khan (24) of Madan Square, Old Kamptee, Jeeshan Hyder Chirag Ali (23) of Hardas Nagar, Nitesh Shyamlal Sirsam (30) of Gawlipura, Kamptee, Pravin Daliram Pochpogde (18) of Kanhan, Shahid Akhtar Jimal Akhtar (29) of Bhoi Lane, Bunkar Colony, Kamptee, Mukesh Kishore Gaurkhede (35) of Rama Nagar, Pravin Devaji Saneshwar (30) of Naya Godam, New Kamptee, Bharat Narayan Hate (40) of Boriyapura, Shivcharan Narayan Hate (35) of Boriyapura, Sarfaraz Imtiyaz Ahmed (32) of Bunkar Colony, Kaushik Ashok Choure (20) of Naya Godam, Shailesh Tilakchand Meshram (35) of Chandramani Nagar, Kamptee and Amol Anil Pantavne (27) of Naya Godam, Prabuddhnagar, Kamptee.
The raiding cops seized Rs 1.24 lakh in cash and other material including mobile phones, a live cartridge, playing cards worth Rs 3.18 lakh.

All the arrested gamblers were booked under Sections 4, 5 of Maharashtra Gambling Prevention Act. One of the accused was also booked under Section 3/25 of Arms Act.
The raid was carried out by PSI Vinod Dhongde and NPCs Rajkumar Janbandhu, Pankaj Lande, Pramod Wagh, sepoys Dinesh Yadav, Prabhakar Mankar, Vinod Sontakke, Mrudul Nagre and Ashok Dubey under the guidance of DCP Harsh Poddar.
