Adv. Kamal Satuja along with Adv. Roshan Bagde, President, DBA, Nagpur, Adv. Manoj Moryani, Adv. Nitin Deshmukh and Adv. Kailash Dodani, led a delegation that convened with the Hon’ble Union Minister of Law and Justice, Mr. Arjun Ram Meghwal at ITAT, Nagpur, on 4 October 2024.
Certain crucial aspects, which are essential for creating a more equitable, secure, and supportive environment for legal practitioners were discussed.
The pressing necessity for implementation of the Advocates Protection Act was discussed.
The proposal for introducing stipend of INR 10000 for newly enrolled advocates for an initial period of three years was also tabled.
The recommendation to provide pensions for advocates aged 70 and above was also discussed.
The necessity of implementing comprehensive Mediclaim coverage for all legal practitioners was also discussed at length. The Hon’ble Minister promised to look into it and act positively as early as possible.
