Nagpur: The derailment of 11 coaches of Kurla LTT-Jaynagar Pawan Express between Lahavit and Devlali Railway Stations near Nashik has thrown Railway traffic out of gear, with several trains being cancelled and diverted in Nagpur Division.
In a press release, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway (CR) said the 12145 LTT-Puri Express on April 3 and the 12146 Puri-LTT Express on April 5 have been cancelled. Besides, several trains reaching Nagpur have been diverted. The diverted trains include the 12289 Mumbai-Nagpur Duronto Express has been diverted via Vasai Road-Surat-Jalgaon and onwards. The 12811 CSMT Mumbai-Hatia Express has also been diverted via Kalyan-Lonavala-Pune–Daund-Manmad and onwards. The 12139 Mumbai-Nagpur Sewagram Express has been diverted via Kalyan-Lonavala-Pune–Daund-Manmad. 12261 CSTM-Howrah Duronto Express will run via CSMT-Vasai Road-Jalgaon–Bhusaval and onwards. The 12809 CSMT-Howrah Express has been diverted via Kalyan-Lonavala- Pune–Daund-Manmad and onwards.
The trains that were short terminated include the 12106 Gondia-Mumbai Vidarbha Express. It was terminated at Bhusaval. The 12105 Mumbai–Gondia Vidarbha Express on April 4 will originate from Bhusawal.
According to the press release, at Nagpur Railway Station, six additional counters were opened at Passenger Reservation System (PRS) to process refund of tickets for passengers opting for cancellation of their journey.Counters were also opened at Wardha, Dhamangaon, Chandur and Ajni to process refund for ticket cancellation.
