Nagpur: The historic Tekdi Ganesh Temple in Nagpur turned into a spiritual hub on Saturday, February 1, as thousands of devotees gathered to celebrate Ganesh Jayanti, fervently chanting Ganpati Bappa Morya! The temple premises buzzed with devotion from the early hours, with worshippers lining up to seek blessings from Lord Ganesh.
The morning aarti witnessed a massive turnout, as devotees offered prayers to the deity of wisdom and prosperity. The festival, also known as Magha Shukla Chaturthi, Tilkund Chaturthi, and Varad Chaturthi, marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesh and falls on the fourth day of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Magh.
The day began with devotees performing traditional rituals, starting with a holy bath and house cleaning before heading to the temple. At home, many placed Ganesh idols or images in their puja rooms, adorning them with sindoor and turmeric, while sacred offerings, including cow dung, were presented as part of the rituals.
Other Bappa temples in the city also saw devotees lining up for darshan of the deity and seeking His blessings.
The grand celebration at Tekdi Ganesh Temple reaffirmed the deep-rooted faith and devotion of Nagpurians, making Ganesh Jayanti a spiritually enriching experience for all.
