Dhammachakra Pravartan Din plan: Only deboarding at Ajni, boarding from Nagpur’s Platform 8

Nagpur: Central Railway’s Nagpur Division has made special arrangements for hassle-free travel of devotees coming for Dhammachakra Pravartan Din celebrations at Deekshabhoomi Nagpur during Dussehra.

A release by Nagpur Division stated that for return journey trains for devotees will start ex-Nagpur Railway Station from Platform No. 8. Ajni Railway Station is partially closed till December first week as redevelopment process is currently on. Hence Platform No. 2 and 3 from where trains used to start from Ajni terminus have been shifted to Nagpur Station. Trains coming to Nagpur will halt at Ajni where devotees can get down as it is near Deekshabhoomi.

BOARDING TRAINS: Passengers have been requested to board trains at Nagpur Railway Station at Platform No. 8 side only. At this platform additional facilities and services will be provided to manage the large footfall and ensure smooth travel during the period. Passengers are advised to note the changes and plan their journeys accordingly.

“We regret the inconvenience caused and request your co-operation for the successful completion of this vital infrastructure work, which will enhance passenger amenities and connectivity at Ajni Station,” a railway official stated in the press release.

In view of the anticipated large gathering of devotees visiting Deekshabhoomi for the celebration of Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, Central Railway’s Nagpur Division will implement special traffic arrangements to ensure the smooth flow of passengers and public safety. Accordingly, certain services at Nagpur Railway Station will be temporarily suspended from October 11 to 13. This includes Car to Coach Service on Santra Market side that will be suspended from October 11 to 13.

And on the West Side, two and four-wheeler parking facilities will remain closed. Similarly, pick-up and drop services also will remain closed as entry of vehicles will be regulated to avoid congestion as visitors to the station will be coming in large numbers.
