Dhanashree, Nadar emerge champs

d241923-largeNagpur: Nashik girl Dhanashree Rathi and Mumbai lad Anand Nadar emerged champions in girls and boys categories respectively in Laxmikant Itkelwar Memorial Maharashtra State Under-15 Chess Tournament that was organised by Nagpur District Chess Association at Naivedyam Hall on Wednesday.

Dhanashree secured highest seven points to win the title. She was followed by Nagpur girls Aditi Patel and Sonal Mandhana for second and third place respectively.

In the boys section Nadar clinched the title via Bucholcz score after his and Nishit Singh’s scores locked at eight points each, On top board Nadar defeated Devansh Ratti while Nishit beat Rahul Pawar.

Secretary to the Maharashtra chief minister Pravin Darade was the chief guest of the prize distribution function. MLA Vijay Wadettiwar, DSO Vijay Santan, NIT superintendent engineer Sunil Gujjelwar Baba Daware of Baba Travels, VK Trivedi, President, NDCA, Sudhatai Itkelwar, and Malati Pawar.

The programme was conduted by Dilip Kamdar, Vice President, NDCA, who also proposed a vote of thanks. Swapnil Bansod was the chief arbiter of the tournament and he was assisted by Pravin Pantawane, Anurag Singh, Prakash Chahande Dipak Patrikar, Sigy Verghse and Sheetal Panbude. NDCA officials worked hard for the success of event.
