Nagpur: Dhantoli police, in a swift action, nabbed three road robbers within hours of crime.
The accused Swapnil Shivram Chaure (26) of Kapil Nagar, Jaripatka, Avinash Sudhakar Kale (19), New Kailash Nagar, Shatabdi Square and Sameer Mahboob Khan (22) of Sahakarya Nagar, Dhantoli, had robbed Radheshyam Parimal Sarkar (24), resident of Takiya, Dhantoli. Radheshyam was going to his workplace at Amarjyoti Complex, Dhantoli around 0030 hours on Tuesday.
Midway, the three accused, riding a white Activa (MH-31/EW 3022), accosted Radheshyam and manhandled him. The accused demanded mobile phone from him. But when he told them he has no phone, the accused thrashed Radheshyam and snatched Rs 2100 from him. He immediately informed Dhantoli police about the incident.
Dhantoli cops, after registering an offence under Sections 394, 34 of the IPC, swung into action. They trailed the accused trio and managed to arrest them within hours of the crime with the help of Ganeshpeth police. Cops seized the looted Rs 2100 and the Activa used in the crime. The three accused were produced before a court which remanded to police custody till June 29, 2017. Further interrogation could lead cops to crack such robberies.
Further probe is being carried out by PSI Anant Wadatkar ynder the guidance of DCP Zone 2 Rakesh Ola and ACP Boravake.
