Nagpur: Dhantoli Zone of Nagpur Municipal Corporation on Thursday undertook a drive against defaulters of Property Tax and recovered a total of Rs 10,13,854 from them. Out of the 12 non-payers of the tax, properties of two have been seized and warrants issued to 10 others to pay Property Tax within seven days. Failure will result in seizer of their properties too.
A total of Rs 17,84,885 are pending against 12 owners towards Property Tax. They are Alka Vinod Ganvir (Rs 4.92 lakh), Prabhakar Patil and others (Rs 73056), Vedbhumi Infrastructures Pvt Ltd (Rs 1.46 lakh), Savitribai Mudliar (Rs 59780), Nirmal Ujwal Coop Bank Ltd (Rs 65609), Tirupati Developers Partners and others (Rs 1.43 lakh), NIT and Avinash Haribhau Padmawar (Rs 5.09 lakh, property seized), Shakuntala Laxman Padole, Kantikumar and others (Rs 45810, property seized), M/s NKY Developers, purchaser Ashok Sahaldeep Singh ((Rs 49489), NIT and NKY Developers, Ashok Komwar, Suchita and others (Rs 35653) and Janrao Harbaji Javade (Rs 1.11 lakh).
Two teams were formed for recovery of pending Property Tax and further actions. The drive was undertaken under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner Ganesh Rathod, and was carried out by Subhash Berisal, Narendra Jambhukar, Manohar Rathod, Devendra Urkudkar, and Lalappa Khan. Citizens have been urged to pay their Property Tax before December 31 to avoid seizer action, a press release issued by Dhantoli Zone said.
