Nagpur News: Defending champions Dharampeth Krida Mandal (DKM) boys and girls began their campaign on victory note on the first day of District Youth Basketball Championship organised by Navyuvak Krida Mandal under the auspices of Nagpur District Basketball Association (NDBA) at Chandan Nagar on Friday.
In the boys section, DKM drubbed Nagpur Amateur Sports Association (NASA) 36-11. DKM dominated the proceedings right from the word go and went on to win 6-3, 14-6, 10-2, 6-0.
Priyam Chandak top scored with 10 baskets. He was ably supported by Karan Pande (8). For NASA, Yash Kher (5) and Vikram Khanzode (4) were the main scorer.
Similarly, DKM girls recorded one-sided 31-2 victory over Nutan Bharat Yuvak Sangh (NBYS). Anushree Kaloti (9) and Shreya Dandekar (6) fashioned the victory.
However in the morning session, NASA boys got rid of Swastik Krida Mandal 36-19.
Earlier MLA Dinanath Padole inaugurated the tournament. Treasurer of Radhikatai Pandav Charitable Trust Girish Pandav, corporators Yogesh Tiwari, Sujata Kombade and others were also present on the occasion.
