Nagpur: Cricket fans from Nagpur and surrounding areas from the region left VCA Jamtha stadium in disgrace after a shameful defeat of Indian cricketers at the hands of Kiwis in their opening match of T20 World Cupon Tuesday. A wave of thunderous applause that echoed the stadium audibly turned into saddening silence as the Indian cricketers were being sent back to the pavilion one after another only to be blocked at 79 runs for all.
As the crowd left in despair the city’s Whatsapp groups and social media circles lapped up the opportunity to train their guns at team India.
A picture posted on Facebook shows three men riding an auto, with the jersey of Indian cricketers – Rohit, Virat and Dhoni on! The picture has been doing the rounds on Whatsapp and Facebook and getting viral with every passing hour. Clubbed with the comments like “Indian Players going to the Hotel…….”, “Match Haarne ke baad Auto me Bhage…..Virat & Dhoni…..” and similar other witty texts, the picture clearly shows the frustration of horders of fans who braved the traffic and jam packed crowd and paid double the amount for the tickets, only to end up going back home with the pinch of defeat!
