Nagpur: In a recent controversy involving the son of Maharashtra BJP President Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Thackeray faction MP Sanjay Raut has made serious allegations following a car accident. Raut claimed that Sanket Bawankule, son of Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and his friends had dinner at a hotel before the accident and allegedly ate beef cutlets. However, the hotel bill reveals that Bawankule’s son did not order beef cutlets. The owner of the Lahori Hotel has approached the Sitabardi police station, seeking action against these claims.

Raut questioned, “Is beef acceptable during the holy months of Shravan and Ganpati to those who preach Hindutva?” He demanded that the hotel’s bill, reportedly found in the accident vehicle, should be produced to clarify the matter. Raut further claimed that the bill included orders for chicken, mutton, and beef cutlets, along with alcohol.

The hotel owner, Sharma, refuted these allegations, stating, “False information is being spread about our restaurant serving beef. I came to the police station to file a complaint. I have no knowledge of the accident itself, but rumors about beef could harm our business. I have no interest in politics; it seems Sanjay Raut has been misled.”

Sharma also stated that if justice is not served by the police, he would approach the court. “I have no idea where these rumors started, but the police should investigate and take action against those responsible, or we will be compelled to seek legal recourse,” he warned.

He clarified that the restaurant’s name got involved because of the accident involving a car with four people who had visited the restaurant. “Four individuals visited our restaurant, ordered alcohol, and later met with an accident. We found out through news reports. They didn’t order any food at our restaurant, so we have no idea where the beef story originated,” Sharma added.
