Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has been instrumental in driving the digital payments revolution in India. This remarkable growth aligns with strategic efforts by the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to promote digital transactions and financial inclusion. Nagpur Metro has added automation to augment this facility further. Overall, integrating UPI as a digital payment option in ticket vending machines promotes a modern, efficient, and customer-friendly approach to ticket sales, aligning with the global shift towards digital financial services.

Here are some key advantages of TVM in relation to convenience for Customers:

• Ease of Use: UPI payments are quick and straightforward.

• Cashless Transactions: A commuter can purchase a ticket with just a few taps on their smartphones, without the need to carry cash or cards.

• No Need for Exact Change: With digital payments, customers don’t have to worry about having the exact amount of cash for their purchase, which can be a common issue when using cash.

• Time-Saving: UPI transactions are completed almost instantly. This reduces queue times and allows customers to obtain their tickets faster than traditional payment methods.

• Contactless Payment: In light of health and safety concerns, such as those raised by the COVID-19 pandemic, contactless payments help reduce physical contact with machines and other people, minimizing the risk of germ transmission.

• Automation: Select your option on TVM screen, enter relevant details, scan QR Code, make payment and get ticket printout.

TVM has been receiving good response from the commuters, with an increasing number of travellers opting to purchase tickets through this facility. Maha Metro Nagpur urged commuters to use this facility.
