Nagpur News: Dinanath Junior College and High School undertook a unique venture with the NCC and Scouts of the school. Fifty saplings alongwith tree guards were planted in the whole of Dhantoli zone by the students who adopted these trees and have taken up the responsibility to nurture them. The drive was organised in collaboration with NMC. Mayor Anil Sole was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. These saplings and tree guards were donated by corporator of ward no 51 Sandeep Joshi.
The students have taken up the initiative with a view to put Nagpur at the top of the greenest cities of the country.
During his interaction with the students, Mayor Anil Sole very lucidly explained to the students that 17-18 trees are required to meet the oxygen requirement of one individual per day. Therefore, he urged the students to not be selfish but try to plant more and more trees to meet the oxygen requirements for others too.
Prominently present during the function were former corporator Rajiv Golhar, vice president of ward no 51 Mandar Chitale and Satish Khambata.
Head mistress Sunita Roy lauded the efforts of Giridhar, Ashwin, Mondal, Wath, Moitra and all other staff members in making the drive a success.
