Nagpur: Expressing his strong displeasure over Mahabeej move to hike seed prices, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stayed the decision and thus provided a relief to lakhs of farmers.
In another significant decision, the State Cabinet, chaired by Fadnavis, approved in principle 20 percent grants to eligible permanently unaided institutions.
Similarly, the Cabinet fulfilled the long standing demand and gave its nod to pension and gratuity benefits to employees of Divyang Karmashalas run by social organizations. The decision will benefit thousands of employees from 86 such Karmashalas. The move will cost Rs 15 crore to the exchequer annually.
The State Government also decided to fill 2541 posts in the newly created 101 Municipal Councils apart from the 683 posts for sanitation workers. Similarly, the Cabinet approved a proposal to create 137 posts of Chief Officers in these councils. State Government will incur expenditure to the tune of Rs 81 crore per year owing to the decision.
