Nagpur: In a freak incident, an Anaesthesiologist met a watery grave when he went for a swim at a pool in Kalmeshwar town. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening.
Dr Rajesh Dudhe, a resident of Jijai Arcade Apartment, Kalmeshwar, went for a swim in the pool of Kalmeshwar Municipal Council. As per information, around 6.30 pm the pool was packed to capacity and everybody was busy with their swimming activity. Suddenly, one of the swimmers hit something underneath and informed others. Promptly a search was undertaken wherein Dr Dudhe was found in a sitting position at the bottom of the pool.
Two life guards and other expert swimmers brought the Doctor out of the pool, and provided him first aid. He was then rushed to Rural Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Still to take a chance, the medico was rushed to Alexis Hospital on Kamptee Road. However, the doctors after examination opined that Dr Dudhe seemed to have suffered a cardiac arrest and died on spot.
What has surprised many is how no one noticed Dr Dudhe sinking into the pool though it was crowded. Dr Dudhe was a well known Anaesthesiologist and he had also set-up Shree Hospital in Kalmeshwar and had also an establishment at Suraburdi.
