Nagpur: Shubham Sengupta and Ved Shende achieved All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the National Eligibility EntranceTest (NEET) 2024, results of which were declared on Tuesday.
Shubhan, a student of St Paul School, Nagpur, scored 97.8 per cent in the Class XII examination, and did his schooling from Bhavan’s Bhagwandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines. He is aiming for admission in AIIMS, Delhi for MBBS. He said that currently he is interested in Cardiology but has not yet decided the subject to pursue for post graduation.
His father Dr Shantanu Sengupta is a Cardiologist, and mother Dr Rajasi Sengupta is a Gynaecologist. His younger brother Shahan Sengupta is in Class X at Bhavan’s Civil Lines.
Ved Shende also achieved All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2024. He is a student of Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar, and scored 95.8 per cent in Class XII examination, results of which were announced recently. He did his schooling there.
He is aiming for admission in AIIMS, Delhi for MBBS, and says that in the coming five years, he will get plenty of time to choose a field for post graduation.
His father Dr Sunil Shende is an ENT Surgeon, and mother Dr Shilpa Shende is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry at IGGMC, Nagpur. He received great support from his cousin who recently completed her MBBS from Government Medical College (GMC) Nagpur.
