Nagpur: In what it could be termed as sheer intelligence failure, two men were brutally killed near Gondkhairi area under Wadi Police Station on the day one of Winter Session here, on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Yogesh Meshram and Salman alias Mahesh Gajbhiye, both residents of Bhivsen Khori.

According to police sources, Meshram and Gajbhiye were notorious for their liquor smuggling activities in Bhivsen Khori area. The duo used to smuggle liquor from Gondkhairi area and would sell it in their vicinity. Over the years, their business thrived and also created new rivals for them.
Cops anticipate that some of these rivals, in an attempt to reduce the competition in the area, attacked Meshram and Gajbhiye when they were on their way to Bhivsen Khori when some assailants armed with sharp edged weapons attacked them and killed them on the spot. Their bodies were rushed to Mayo Hospital but they were pronounced dead on arrival.
Wadi police, in the meantime, have registered an offence of murder and probing further.
