Nagpur:Starting today, consumers will face a double hit of inflation as Amul milk prices rise by ₹2 per liter and highway toll taxes increase by 5%.
Initially, the toll tax hike was scheduled to take effect on April 1, but it was postponed due to the Lok Sabha elections.
With the elections now concluded, the common man is feeling the pinch of rising costs. From June 3, the price of Amul milk has increased by ₹2 per liter. Similarly, toll taxes on national highways have been raised by 5%.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells milk under the Amul brand, has announced the price hike. They stated that the milk price increase of 3-4% is below the average food inflation rate. This price hike applies to all types of Amul milk. Here are the new rates:
Amul Buffalo Milk: ₹36 per half liter
Amul Gold: ₹33 per half liter
Amul Shakti: ₹30 per half liter
National Highway Travel Costs Increase from Today
Starting June 3, drivers using national highways will have to pay more. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to implement an average toll rate increase of 5% nationwide. This increase was initially planned for April 1 but was delayed due to the Lok Sabha elections.
