Nagpur: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has nominated Padma Shri Dr Vikas Mahatme as the President of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur.

A former Member of Rajya Sabha, Dr Mahatme has vast experience in the medical field. “I am eagerly looking forward to this new responsibility and will put in all my efforts to contribute to this new role. I express my gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukhbhai Mandaviya, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis for giving me this opportunity,” said Dr Mahatme.
