Nagpur: Dr. Praveen Kumar Dhankar is the only Indian researcher who has been awarded DAC research funding award to participate in the scientific program “Statistical mechanics, integrability and dispersive hydrodynamics (HY2W04)” held recently at Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.

The workshop was sampled from experimental approaches in optics and hydrodynamics through to theoretical and mathematical questions concerning integrable systems. The main topics were statistical description of integrable turbulence, kinetic theory, soliton gases, space-time correlations in integrable and non-integrable lattice systems, thermodynamic properties of random matrix ensembles and nonlinear dispersive systems, the use of inverse scattering transform with random initial data.

These problems are of particular interest in the fields of nonlinear optics and of hydrodynamics. The central models discussed in this workshop will be integrable equations such as the one-dimensional nonlinear Schrodinger or the Korteweg-de Vries equations. The analysis of non-integrable perturbations induced by high order terms is also a fundamental question.

Dr. Dhankar working is an Assistant Professor of Department of Mathematics at G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur. He expressed his gratitude of thankful to Sunil Raisoni, Chairman, Raisoni Group of Institutions (RGI) and Dr. Sachin Untawale, Director, GHRCE, for giving him an opportunity to be a part of this scientific program and flags the Institute on the International level. He is very much thankful to Dr. P. Walke and Dr. M. Khanapurkar, Dy-Director, GHRCE, Dr. S. Jaju, Dean, R&D, GHRCE for unconditional support in academics and research and Dr. B. Butey, FY, Dean for encouraging him to add new feathers in his cap in the form of this research award. He expressed his gratitude to all his well-wishers who are connected to him directly and indirectly in his life.
