Driver of mini truck killed after it rams MSRTC bus near Nagpur

Nagpur: The driver of a mini truck was killed after his vehicle collided head-on with a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus near Chauda Mile on Amravati Road near Nagpur on Monday. The driver of the ST bus was seriously injured while around 13 students travelling in the bus escaped with minor injuries.

The ST bus, of the Ghat Road depot, with Nilesh Alone behind the wheels was heading towards Seloo from Kalmeshwar when the accident happened. The bus had around 40-45 students on board.

The bus, after leaving students at Mangrul, was returning to Chauda Mile when the light carrier vehicle, travelling from the opposite direction, rammed into it head-on.

The impact of the accident was such that the drivers of both the vehicles, which were heavily damaged too, were left seriously injured. The driver of the light carrier vehicle, Mahesh Nalge, was declared dead by doctors at a Nagpur hospital.

An offence was registered at the Kalmeshwar Police Station against the State Transport bus driver.
