Nagpur: A squad of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) of Nagpur Police nabbed a drug peddler from Uppalwadi, Kamptee Road, coming under Kapil Nagar Police Station, Nagpur, in the wee hours of Tuesday. Cops seized 14 kg of ganja worth Rs 2.82 lakh from possession of the accused.
The accused drug peddler has been identified as Shubham alias Vicky Rupchand Shahu (28), resident of Uppalwadi, behind Zam Zam Ice Factory, Kamptee Road, Nagpur.
While patrolling on Tuesday night, the NDPS squad spotted the accused and on the suspicion, frisked him. During checking, cops found the accused Shubham Shahu in possession of the narcotics staff. Subsequently, he was arrested under Sections 8(C), 20(B), 2(B) of the NDPS Act.
Notably, cases have been registered against the accused in Chhattisgarh and at Pardi Police Station in Nagpur. Shubham Shahu was jailed for three years in Chhattisgarh. He was also arrested by Wadi police in a theft case. The NDPS squad handed over the accused and the seized narcotics stuff to Kapil Nagar police for further course of action.
