Nagpur: A 40-year old man in Hingna area attacked his father and brother with an axe after they opposed his drinking habit. The incident took place recently and the accused was taken into custody by the police.
Identified as Kishor Gyaneshwar Urkude, the accused is a resident of Ward No 4, Kanholibara. Injured Gyaneshwar Urkude (69) and Atul Urkude (33) were rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Kishor, a habitual drinker, was creating scenes in an inebriated condition. His father Gyaneshwar requested him to calm down. However, he started abusing him, and also thrashed him. Kishor then lifted an axe lying on the floor and attacked his father causing him serious head injuries. When his younger brother Atul intervened and tried to overpower him, Kishor also attacked him with the same exe.
Hingna Police have arrested Kishor on charges under Sections 326 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigations are underway.
