Nagpur: Following a minor brawl after consuming liquor, a criminal murdered a labourer at Khairi, Bhilgaon under Yashodhara Nagar Police Station jurisdiction.
The brick kiln worker was brutally found murdered in the Hanuman Mandir Sabhagruha near Bhilgaon Gram Panchayat Office on Thursday morning. The deceased, Ravi Manohar Dhande (35) was a resident of Bhandara. He was working at a brick kiln at village Khairi. After some devotees and the temple priest noticed the body around 7.30 am, they immediately informed the police.
Staff from Yashodhara Nagar Police rushed to the spot and started the probe. After conducting the inquest ‘panchnama,’ cops sent the body to Mayo Hospital for post-mortem. After establishing the identity of the deceased, the DB Squad led by Inspector Jumale took one Suraj Kamble alias Shaikh Alfaz alias Suraj Shaikh Jalil (23), a resident of Juni Basti, Bhilgaon, into custody on suspicion. Kamble, who has a criminal record, also works as a labourer and they used to live together.
Prima facie, a senior police officer said, suspect Shaikh Alfaz killed Dhande at some other place and dumped the body in the temple Sabhagruha to mislead the investigators.“We believe that Shaikh Alfaz killed Dhande over liquor,” he added. After recording the statement of temple priest Shubham Mishra (24), he said, police registered a case under Sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
