Crime branch of Nagpur police has arrested eight people suspicious of planning a robbery on the day of Ganesh Visarjan in Nagpur. All the eight were spotted at Raj Nagar Buty layout while the police were on its regular patrolling. Few of the arrested were said to be having criminal background.
PSI Om Bapurao Bangare along with his team has initiated this action in the wee hours of Thursday. Police sources informed that Bangare was patrolling in Raj Nagar area when he spotted few men under suspicious circumstances. He then approached towards the group which soon diffused and the members tried to flee the spot. However police had already cordoned off the area and managed to nab all of them.
Those arrested include Santosh Shyamrao Thapa, 30, Sai Nagar, Deepak Ramkrishan Dhanshekar, 30, Mhada Colony, Godhani, Santosh Jojinal Prajapati, 22, Railway Colony Mangalwari, Ganesh Vijay Choudhary, 23, PTS Quarters, Chandan Nagar, Aakash Rajkumar Meshram, 23, Warpakhad, Indore, Manoj Hemraj Dharde, 26, Rambagh slums, Yogesh Manoj Pesadeli, 20, Railway quarter no.1, Khalasi line and Naushad Peer Mohammed Khan, 23, Mominpura.
Police have recovered knives, gupti, screwdriver, swords and other arms and tools from their possession. Few two wheelers including motorbikes and mopeds along with mobile handsets were also seized from them.
A case under section 399, 402 along with sub-section 4/25, 135 of IPC have been registered against the accused. Sadar police were investigating the matter
