Elderly pedestrian killed in road accident

Nagpur News : An elderly man was killed in a road accident on Sunday night when he crossing a road under the jurisdiction of Sakkardara police station.

Police have identified the deceased as Mukul Pande (55), a resident of Gaurakshan Sangh Bahadura. Police said, Mukul was on foot crossing Umrer Road, Dharma Kanta, infront of Gaurakshan Sangh and was heading towards Vihir village when an unidentified motorcyclist of hero Honda Passion Pro (MH 40 Q 5332) hit him. Mukul sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital by the commuters. Meanwhile, the killer motorcyclist ran away from the scene fearing public wrath.

Sakkardara police informed that the Mukul succumb to the injuries during the treatment. Cops have registered an offence under Section 304 (a) and 279 read with sub section 134, 187 and 184 of Motor Vehicle Act.
