Election Training holds for Polling Booth Parties

Arvi: With the announcement of Lok Sabha election schedule by the Election Commission of India, the polling for Wardha Lok Sabha Constituency will be held the second phase i.e. on 26 April 2024. Various activities are being imple- mented by the district administration to ensure that maximum number of voters exercise their right to vote in this election. As a part of the second phase election, first training for polling booth officers was organized. Government employees from various departments attended the training.

Sub Divisional Officer, Arvi, Vishwas Sirsat, Tahsildar Haridas Kale, Arvi, Tahsilsdar Aishwarya Giri, Karanja (Gh), guided the gathering respectively. SDO Vishwas Shirsat elucidated the entire process of voting from contol unit machine, vvpat to ballot unit machine with the illustration of PPT. He told the attendees each and every works of election are utmost importance, and any amiss and lackadaisical approach towards managing electoral works can result into total chaos. He also emphasized that the general election is the festival of democracy and every polling officer is linchpin in the election process ensuring the exercise of people’s voting should be taken place in free and fair atmosphere.

Tahsildar Haridas Kale elaborated the functions of Electronic Voting Machines, consisting of control unit, ballot uniti and voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT). He showed the demonstration how to start at the outset of the voting connecting all these machines with each another and how to disconnect them after the end of poll.

Tahsilsdar Aishwarya Giri enumerated the duties of the polling booth parties, enumerating duties to be carried put on the day of poll. She also provided the guidelines of do’s and don’ts for polling booth party. At the concluding session of the training, queries and doubts were taken from the attendees and dispelled the doubts and misleading notions about the process of voting by Sub Divisional Officer, Arvi, Vishwas Sirsat, Tahsildar Haridas Kale, Arvi, Tahsilsdar Aishwarya Giri, Karanja (Gh).
