Nagpur: Dhantoli Police have arrested a 20-year-old employee of a laptop-selling shop in Dhantoli for allegedly stealing laptops from the firm’s godown and selling them to people, including some from Madhya Pradesh (MP).
Cops have identified the accused as Badal Annaji Wagh, a resident of Saraswati Nagar, Takiya, Dhantoli.
Speaking to Nagpur Today, Prabha Ekurke, Senior Police Inspector at Dhantoli Police Station, informed that the complainant, Azhar Ahmad Sheikh (44), originally a resident of Ward No. 15 Mahadevpura, Wardha, and currently residing on the first floor of Orange City Tower, Patrakar Bhavan Road Chowk, Dhantoli, owns Prepg Multi Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
“The owner grew suspicious of Wagh’s behavior due to constant missing e-gadgets from the firm’s godown. Between September 17, 2023, and January 28, 2024, Sheikh stated that Wagh had used the godown’s duplicate key to sneak in and decamp with laptops and other e-gadgets worth lakhs of rupees,” she said.
“Based on the complaint received, we’ve registered a case under Section 381 of the IPC and nabbed the accused Wagh. We’ve also traced some of the gadgets sold by Wagh in MP,” she mentioned.
Further investigations are ongoing.
