Nagpur: A 23-year-old engineering student, Prajwal Sahare, was arrested along with his accomplice Dhiraj Gehane for attempting to kidnap a 17-year-old boy from Nandanvan of Nagpur on Tuesday. The motive behind the kidnap attempt is still not clear, said police.
According to Police, the 17-year-old boy was about to leave for his tuition class. His friend came on a Honda Activa to pick him up. The accused duo, along with two other persons, came in a Swift Dzire car (MH-31/FR9394) and started forcing the boy to board the vehicle. Sensing trouble, the boy raised an alarm. As his father came for his rescue, the accused sped away. However, the motive behind the attempt to kidnap the teenage boy could not be ascertained.
The accused Prajwal Uddhav Sahare (23) is a resident of Bhende Layout, Trimurti Nagar Square, and Neeraj Gopal Bihane (29), a resident of Plot No A/2, Astha Apartment, Hazaripahad.
After recording the statement of the boy, police registered a case under Sections 363, 511 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused persons and started further investigation.
