Ex-NVCC President moves HC, seeks quashing of FIR in cheating case

Nagpur: Issuing notice to non-applicants — Police Station Officer, Sitabuldi and another, Justice Vinay Joshi and Justice Vrushali Joshi, at the Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court here, have directed them to show cause by July 2, in response to the criminal application filed by Ashwin Prakash Mehadia (Agrawal) for getting FIR quashed registered against the applicant at the Sitabuldi Police Station, for the offences punishable under Sections 409, 420,465,467, 468, 469, 470, 471, 34 of the IPC.

The High Court has directed that, in the meantime, investigation shall go on, but chargesheet shall not be filed against the applicant without taking prior permission from the High Court. The HC has noted that though the crime was registered in February, 2023, no chargesheet has been filed to date. The informant, who is a member of Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC), has lodged a report alleging several malpractices by the applicant in the capacity of being the President of the said Company.
