Nagpur: The family members of a woman alleged that her newborn was exchanged for another baby at Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) on Sunday. The family alleged that the doctors had informed that the woman had delivered a baby boy.
A complaint has been registered at the Ajni police station against the hospital staff. However, the GMCH authorities denied the allegations by the family members of the woman.
Relatives of the woman informed that the patient was first admitted in Daga Hospital on Saturday. However, she was referred to the GMCH on the grounds that her health was serious. Here also she was to be shifted to a private hospital. However, the female doctors of the ward insisted that the delivery be done at GMCH itself. Later on ceasarian operation was performed in the early morning .
Bagdes further said that at 6 am the patient was informed that she had delivered a baby boy. She was then shifted to ward number 22, wherein there a girl child was given to her.
The family members after learning that the child was a girl, started enquiring with the hospital. The family alleged that the hospital authorities were unavailable to listen to their grievannces.
