Nagpur : Farmers will not face shortage of seeds, chemical fertilizers for the coming Kharif season. Agriculture Minister Abdul Sattar said that the allocation of agricultural inputs to the districts has been approved according to their demand patterns. He interacted with reporters after pre-kharif season review of Nagpur division at VANAMATI. He gave this information at that time.

The press conference was attended by Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department Eknath Dawle, Agriculture Commissioner Sunil Chavan, Divisional Joint Director of Agriculture Rajendra Sable. He said that compensation will be given as soon as possible to the farmers who have suffered losses due to heavy rains and unseasonal rains in the last few days.

According to the advice of the Meteorological Department, this year’s monsoon will be good for the farmers. In the past few days, heavy rains and hailstorms have caused huge damage in various parts of the state. For this, financial assistance of 12 thousand crores has been distributed to the farmers. The assistance for the losses incurred a few days ago is yet to be paid and after the Panchnama is finalised, this amount will also be credited to the farmer’s account. In the state, 46 lakh hectares have been damaged by heavy rains and hail since June till now. He said that 57 lakh farmers were affected due to this.

The state government decided to pay compensation at double the rate fixed by NDRF and did so. The central government provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year to the farmers under the Shetkari Samman Yojana. As the state government has also decided to give 6 thousand rupees, the farmers of the state will now get financial assistance of 12 thousand rupees per year. So the farmers have got relief.

He appealed to all the farmers to do KYC of their Samman Yojana accounts. He also said that if farmers turn to animal husbandry along with agriculture, their financial income will definitely increase and all the posts in the agriculture department will be filled in the next hundred days. He said that the government is always trying to ensure that the farmers get the right price for the farm produce.
