Nagpur: A 3-year-old boy was abducted in broad daylight by his father in Shanti Nagar area on Monday morning. The incident occurred in front of a Jain temple in the Tulsinagar area.
The police have swung into action after registering a case of kidnapping against the boy’s father and his accomplice. According to the police, the victim’s mother, a 22-year-old woman from Shanti Nagar, had married a youth from Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, in 2019. After the marriage, the husband and his relatives allegedly subjected her to physical torture. Distressed over the torture, the woman had filed a complaint with the Khandwa police. Some time ago, she returned to her parental home with her three-year-old son, police said.
However, the situation escalated when the husband sent her a notice for divorce and also expressed his intention to take away their child. On Monday morning, the woman was riding a two-wheeler with her son. The husband and his accomplice intercepted them by car. One of them blocked the two-wheeler and forcibly snatched the child away and escaped from there at great speed.
The woman immediately reported the kidnapping to the Shanti Nagar Police. The police registered a case and launched a search operation. A team from the Police Station and Crime Branch has been dispatched to Khandwa to apprehend the accused and rescue the abducted boy.
