Nagpur: Fed up with frequent extortion money demand doled out by three hardcore criminals, an employee of country liquor shop committed suicide by consuming poison on 20-08-2015. Initially, cops had registered a case of accidental death when the liquor shop employee named Suresh Mulchand Baghele (50) was found in an unconscious state in his house located near Timki Police Post. He was taken to Mayo Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
However, a thorough investigation by Tehsil police revealed that Suresh had committed suicide to escape the torture and frequent extortion money demand by the accused criminals Balya Vanjari and his two accomplices. Balya Vanjari and two others had stormed the liquor shop where Suresh was working and damaged it. The accused had demanded Rs 5000 every month as extortion money at knife point he Suresh had to run the liquor shop. The scared Suresh had buckled to the threats doled out by Balya Vanjari and his accomplices and had parted with Rs 5000 at one time or the other. However, the frequent life threats and the extortion demand took the heavy toll of Suresh and he decided to end his life and the torture as well. He consumed a poisonous stuff on the night of August 20. Subsequent to probe revelations, Mangala, wife of the deceased Suresh Baghele, registered a case against the accused.
API Chavan has now booked the accused Balya Vanjari and his two accomplices under Sections 306, 387, 34 for abetting suicide and other offences. The accused have so far not been arrested.
