Nagpur: To mark the Nutrition Week, a workshop on nutrition was organized for parents of Little Jewels Kindergarten, a feeder kindergarten of Jain International School in the school. The topic of the workshop was “Feed Smart, Right from the Start!” Ms. Ananya Somani, an accredited Celebrity & Sports Dietician from Mumbai conducted the workshop. She has done her Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics from Australia.
Ms. Ananya Somani spoke about how the fancy hotel food can be altered at home by maintaining the nutritive value; and gave the tips about how to make food for children interesting and appealing just by changing its looks. Experimenting with food in regards of colour, texture, presentation etc. and addressing the child’s queries and patience were tips to avoid fussy eating by her. She stressed that emphasis should be given on how to shape a positive approach to food. The lecture was followed by an interactive session for the parents in which various queries of parents were answered by the resource person.
