Film “Baisakhi Wala Mela” puts Vidarbha and its talented artists on Bollywood map, in style

photoNagpur: The City of Nagpur has aesthetically been put on the map of Bollywood and Indian film industry as well with the ongoing shooting of Hindi film “Baisakhi Wala Mela.” The film is being made with majority of talented artists from Nagpur and Vidarbha and some celebrities of Bollywood. Shahbaz Khan, well-known for his roles in swashbuckling TV serials like “Chandrakanta”, “Yug”, “The Great Maratha” and many others, is palying a lead role in “Baisakhi Wala Mela” as well.

Shahbaz Khan, speaking on the film and Nagpur said, “Vidarbha and Nagpur have beautiful and impressive locations for shooting of all kinds of films. The Producer Kamaljit Singh Maras has aptly decided to produce “Baisakhi Wala Mela” on the locations of Nagpur for the first time. The city boasts of several remarkable aspects necessary for producing a film and the region has so many talented producers as well. Vidarbha is full of talent and, genius as well. Only a proper vision and guidance is needed to find it. And a man called Kamaljeet Singh found the talent in Nagpur and also in Vidarbha. Kamaljeet went on a venture and now is producing a film “Baisakhi Wala Mela” with a star cast flowing from Nagpur and Vidarbha. In future, Nagpur will emerge as a milestone for production of films,” said a confident Shahbaz Khan.

The same confidence was also echoed by actor Deepak Bhatiya, who is often seen playing the role of villain in Bollywood and Bhojpuri movies (“Jaal the Trap” and “Gajini” fame), was in the city recently for the shooting of “Baisakhi Wala Mela”. The film is likely to be released around Deepawali. The promising film, studded with talented artists of Nagpur and Vidarbha along with some Bollywood stars, has been shot at other locations also such as Deolapar, Narkhed, Selu, Kelvad, Gondia, Bhandara, Gadchiroli, apart from Mumbai, Jammu, Himachal, Punjab and Goa locations.

Kamaljeet Singh Maras is Producer-Director-Script Writer of the film. The film is being produced under the banner of Twinkle Star Creation. The stars in the film include actors Shahbaz Khan, Sabdil Madar, K T Rao (Junior Nana Patekar), Deepak Bhatiya (Gajni-fame), Munna Khan, Hardil Gill (Hero), Namrata Singh alias Nainsi (Heroine), Sunil Hirekhan, Abhay Yadav, Rahul Wasnik, Aswin Wagle, Devesh Somkuwar, Pradeep Ronge, Gurbaksh Singh, Rohit Chavan, Raju Sayam, N Ramchandra, Kalam, Mumtaj Bhai, Shubham, Sudhir Patil, Prabhakar Rohit Chavan, Sayoni Mishra, Vidya, Krishna Kapur, Anita, Sneha Neha apart from Kamaljeet Singh who is also playing an important role in the film.

The Producer of the film Kamaljeet Singh Maras said that the stars from Mumbai talk of making film industry in Nagpur whenever they come here for promotion of their films but forget the promise once they return to Mumbai. This is the only reason the Vidarbha and Nagpur artists are being deprived of showing their talent. But the this film “Baisakhi Wala Mela” will prove a milestone for the budding artists from the region. The Nagpur and Vidarbha actors of “Baisakhi Wala Mela” would be under a scanner of the fans. The actors too, have a golden chance to show their talent and make place for themselves in the Bollywood. The film has showed that a good film can also be produced with a small budget. The attraction of this film is that a role has been played by one of the world’s shortest kids Shakti Aryan, who stays in Jalgaon. This is film is based on a true story, said Kamaljit Singh who has also bagged many awards for his live “Bhangda” dance.

The lyrics of the songs are provided by Hargovind Munna Raj and Kamaljeet himself. Music Director is Mumbai’s Devendra Rathore while Cameraman is Prashant Shende. Ace singers Udit Narayan, Sadhana Sargam, Mohd Aziz and Kalpna have provided their voice to the songs.
