Nagpur: Ajit Parse, a notorious social media influencers, has been arrested by the Crime Branch six months after a cheating case was registered against him by Dr Rajesh Murkute, a homeopathic doctor and entrepreneur.
Parse, a resident of Mrinal Apartment in Khamla, had allegedly honey-trapped Dr Murkute and took more than Rs 50 crores from him on the pretext of providing CSR funds, withdrawing a CBI warrant, and closing a case related to a newborn adopted by the doctor’s relatives.

Parse used social media to promote himself and pretended to have access to the PMO, CBI, and union ministers. He would send letters on their behalf to influence people. The police found a large number of letterheads, stamp papers, bogus mail IDs of PMO, and police rubber stamps during a search of Parse’s house.
With Parse’s arrest, the police are expecting many more cases of honey-trapping and fraud to come to light. This incident highlights the need to be cautious of individuals who make false promises and claims on social media.
