Nagpur: Sensation gripped the Kharbi area in the early hours of Friday as a group of assailants killed two individuals following a financial dispute, according to police.
The deceased have been identified as Krishnakant Bhat and Sunny Sarudkar.
Vishwanath Chavhan, Senior Police Inspector of Wathoda, informed Nagpur Today that the victims and the accused, Kiran Shende, were friends.
“Sunny had assisted Kiran in purchasing a vehicle on EMI. However, as Kiran failed to pay his EMIs, Sunny began receiving calls from the finance firm. This led to an argument between them at Saibaba Nagar in Kharbi,” he said.
“During the altercation, accused Kiran, along with his brother and a few accomplices, attacked Krishnakant with stones and sticks, resulting in their immediate demise,” he added.
An offense under Section 302 and 34 of the IPC has been registered in this connection. The manhunt for the accused persons is underway.
