FIR filed against WhatsApp Group for making viral vulgar video in name of Sangram Bar

Nagpur: Kotwali police have registered an FIR against a WhatsApp Group for making viral a vulgar dance video in the name of ‘Sangram Bar and Restaurant’ with the aim of defaming its owner. The WhatsApp Group is known as ‘Maujmasti’ administered by the accused Sheshraj Purshottam Madankar (45), resident of Kamal Chowk, Pachpaoli.

The owner of ‘Sangram Bar and Rstaurant’ Prashant Ramrao Dhawad (48) in his complaint to Kotwali police said that one of his friends informed him that an obscene video in the name of his bar and restaurant is being viralled. Therefore, he called the video from the friend. The title of the video was “Prashant Dhawad ke Sangram Bar ka video.” The 3-minute video is very vulgar and obnoxious. “The moment I saw the video, I came to know that the kind of interior was shown was not of my hotel. Hence I immediately lodged an FIR with Kotwali police,” Dhawad said.

Acting on the complaint of Prashant Dhawad, cops immediately dialled the mobile phone of WhatsApp Group Admin and came to know the number is of Sheshraj Madankar. Madankar reportedly accepted the video was on his group. Subsequently, the cops registered a case under Section 500 of the IPC, according to media reports.

Dhawad claimed that the vulgar video was made viral with the aim of defaming him. The raid on his bar and restaurant conducted a few days ago was part of a well planned conspiracy. “I will be meeting higher police officials in connection with viral of the video and demand appropriate action against the group. I have requested Kotwali police to take action under IT Act not only against group admin but entire group,” Dhawad said.
