Nagpur: The arrival of the famous Nagpuri summer seems to be here, as Ambazari Biodiversity Park has reported fires for two consecutive days in Nagpur.
On Tuesday, Ambazari Biodiversity Park fell victim to flames, devouring approximately 10 hectares of precious vegetation and greenery in the afternoon.
This was followed by another fire on Wednesday.

As temperatures rise with the onset of summer, the park, nestled amidst human settlements and commercial infrastructure, becomes a hotbed for fire-related incidents. The Forest Department attributes this latest fire outbreak to a spark from a high-tension line intersecting the park, with potential human error near a nearby sewage treatment plant serving as another probable cause, as stated by Dr. Bharat Singh Hada, Deputy Conservator of Forests.

Extensive fire monitoring efforts are a staple during summer, with 12 watchtowers equipped with CCTV cameras scattered throughout the park. Prompt action was taken when smoke was spotted near the STP, with fire tenders from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation rushing to the scene and dousing the fire.
